COUPLE LURE GIRLS USING MXit

And these, definitely the actions of the wrong kind.... I hope this couple have been caught and locked away, without the option of mixing with young girls ever again! What kind of people do this stuff!!

Young Durban girls are being lured to Johannesburg by a mystery couple who claim they can introduce them to people they have been chatting to on MXit, the instant cellphone messaging service.

A Phoenix teen is receiving counselling after her parents foiled her attempt to flee her home and travel to Johannesburg where she was to meet a MXit contact, apparently with the aid of the couple.

The father of the 15-year-old said his daughter had not discussed the incident yet. He understood that a man called "Shane" was to have fetched the girl from school last Tuesday

However, his wife had arrived at the school earlier than expected, foiling the girl's plans.

She accompanied her mother home but secretly made plans to meet Shane. Later she told her mother she was going to study at a library and left the house, smuggling a packed bag out with her.

Shane apparently drove her to the Durban bus terminal in NMR Avenue from where she was to travel to Johannesburg to meet "Charles", a man she had met on MXit.

The parents panicked when the girl had not returned home at 6pm and started searching for her.

"She told us that she was going to the library, and we thought nothing of it until she didn't return," her father said.

A search was launched for the girl, and one of her friends later divulged the plan.

The friend said she had tried to talk the 15-year-old out of going to Johannesburg, but said she would not listen.

Two relatives then raced to the bus terminal where they found the girl with five other girls who were reportedly being accompanied by a mystery couple to Johannesburg.

The couple had bought the bus tickets, and promised the girls accommodation while they were in Johannesburg.

The father said he immediately confiscated his daughter's phone when she returned home that night and tried to discuss the matter with her.

However, she had refused to speak of the incident.

"My worry is that she may still be in contact with her buddy in Johannesburg and we do not know what they might be planning."
